About this policy

Refined Daily LLC operates Refined Daily. This policy explains how the free Refined Daily applications for Android and iOS, account website and support services handle information. The free mobile service includes Today, Bible, My Studies, Refiner, private Insights and assigned Church/Groups resources. It contains no advertisements, purchases or subscriptions. Contact support@refineddaily.app about privacy.

Account information

We process your name, email address, authentication identifiers and credentials, profile, onboarding choices, preferences and account settings to create and secure your account and provide the Service. Authentication services handle passwords and sessions. We record your age-eligibility confirmation; we do not ask for your date of birth.

Studies and private reflections

We store study sessions, generated studies, saved responses, progress, completion and interaction history so you can resume and review your studies. Private responses and reflections can reveal religious beliefs and personal circumstances. Provide only information you choose to include and avoid unnecessary information about others. Device drafts and server-saved responses are separate: a local draft does not mean it has been saved to your account.

Refiner and AI processing

Refiner stores your messages, generated responses, session titles and conversation history privately in your account. When you send a message, choose a starter or request guided reflection, we process your input and relevant saved reflection context through an external AI service provider to produce the response. Requested study generation and optional analysis also use AI processing. The implemented AI integrations use OpenAI. Provider processing is necessary for these features; you can avoid it by not submitting inputs to them.

We use safety processing and access controls to limit misuse. Generated responses may be incomplete or incorrect. Private conversations are not public posts, and we do not routinely manually review every private conversation. Provider storage, security and deletion are governed by the applicable service configuration and provider obligations; requesting a response does not mean the information is never stored or processed outside Refined Daily.

Reporting generated content

You can report a selected Refiner response in the app. The report records account/session/response references, a keyed response-version identifier, a fixed reason, review status and timestamps. It does not copy your message or the full conversation into the report. Authorized operators use this metadata for moderation and corrective action. Reporting does not grant Church leaders access to your private conversation. Relevant report metadata is removed with the associated message or account.

Private Insights and consent

Insights uses eligible completed study history and derived analysis, evidence references and projections to present private formation patterns. Analysis requires your explicit consent and eligibility checks. Enabling it does not authorize indiscriminate analysis of all historical private content. You can stop future analysis and separately delete existing derived analysis. Stopping future analysis alone does not erase previously saved results. Corrections or deletion of source material can invalidate related analysis and require refresh. Insights is not a diagnosis, a measure of spiritual worth or authoritative divine direction.

Church and group information

We process organization/group membership, roles, assignments and access records to provide institution-published resources to eligible members. Authorized organization roles can manage the membership and institution resources their role permits. Membership information is distinct from private study content. Church leaders cannot read your private responses, Refiner history or private Insights through their Church role. The free mobile service has no member public feed, direct messages, source uploads or Church aggregate Insights.

You can report assigned resources or publisher conduct in the app. Reports contain reporter, organization, resource and publisher references, a reason, status and timestamps. These reports go to an authorized moderation queue, not to a public feed. Church-owned resources and publication provenance are separate from your private responses.

Technical information and device storage

Requests carry network information such as an IP address and browser/user-agent information. The native client sends platform, application version, build and compatibility-contract information. Our servers and providers may process request identifiers, security events, diagnostic reason codes and performance information needed to operate, protect and troubleshoot the Service. Operational logging should not include raw private writing.

The website uses authentication cookies and browser storage. The mobile app uses protected session storage, temporary authentication-return state and encrypted private drafts to support signing in and recovering work. Signing out and account deletion clear relevant local private state. We do not integrate advertising identifiers, location tracking, address-book collection, microphone/camera collection, push tokens or a dedicated advertising/analytics/crash SDK in this release. Host and platform processing remains subject to their applicable services.

Support communications

If you contact us or submit the contact form, we process the name, email address, message and technical delivery information you provide to respond to account, privacy, deletion or content inquiries. Do not email passwords or unnecessary private reflections. We may request proportionate identity verification before disclosing information or acting on an account. Support communications are not automatically erased by deleting an unrelated account record and are retained only as needed to handle the inquiry and applicable obligations.

Purposes and service providers

We use information to authenticate accounts, provide requested features, preserve private history, process consented analysis, deliver assigned resources, handle support and reports, prevent abuse and comply with applicable obligations. We use Supabase services for authentication and application database/storage, OpenAI for implemented AI processing and Resend for the implemented public contact-email delivery path. Account verification/reset email depends on the configured authentication email service.

Hosting, email, security and operational service providers process information needed to deliver their services under the applicable configuration and obligations. Processing locations may differ from where you live. Transfers to a service provider are different from sharing content with another user. We do not sell personal information or use private religious writing for targeted advertising. We do not claim that every provider transfer is exempt from a store disclosure requirement.

Other disclosures

We may disclose limited information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, protect people or the Service, investigate abuse, or complete a business transfer with appropriate safeguards and notice. We do not turn private Refiner conversations, Insights or study responses into Church-visible content. Any separate user-requested disclosure must have its own appropriate authorization.

Security

We use authenticated access controls, private-data isolation, encrypted transport and server-side encryption for protected private content, as well as encrypted device drafts. Account/profile and structural metadata are not all protected by the same content-envelope encryption. Authorized server processing can decrypt protected content to provide requested features. This is not end-to-end encryption. No system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your credentials and device.

Retention and deletion

We retain account content while needed to provide your account and requested features, until you delete it or another applicable retention rule requires removal. Refiner context/lookback limits are not automatic expiry of stored history. In-app Settings and https://refineddaily.app/account-deletion provide account-deletion pathways. Confirm your password and type DELETE MY ACCOUNT. A website request does not require installation of the app. Password reset and support assistance are available if you cannot sign in.

Deletion closes account access and invalidates sessions, then performs retryable erasure of your profile, authentication identity, private studies/responses, Refiner history, private analysis and relevant reporting records. Device-local private state is cleared by the client. Processing can continue asynchronously; a deletion receipt distinguishes pending and completed requests. Church-owned publications and opaque provenance may remain without transferring your private responses.

Limited security, audit, deletion and restoration records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to prevent abuse, demonstrate deletion, preserve system integrity, support recovery or satisfy applicable legal obligations. These retained records exclude private writing and unnecessary personal identifiers where feasible. Protected backups are retained according to the applicable backup and recovery schedule. Account deletion may not immediately remove every copy from protected backups or third-party processors. Provider deletion or expiry follows applicable provider obligations. Deleted-account data restored from backup must be reconciled against deletion records before normal access is restored.

Access and choices

You can review and change supported profile settings, delete Refiner sessions, control optional Insights analysis and delete derived analysis through available account controls. An authenticated website export is available for supported private analysis; there is no general native full-account export button. Contact support@refineddaily.app for access, correction, export, deletion, consent-withdrawal or privacy complaints. We verify identity where appropriate and handle requests according to applicable law, including any lawful exceptions. You may also contact the relevant privacy authority where that right applies.

Children and eligibility

Refined Daily is intended for people aged 13 and older. Children under 13 are not eligible to create their own account. Where local law requires a higher age or additional authorization, that requirement applies. If you believe a child under 13 has provided account information, contact support@refineddaily.app so we can investigate and take appropriate removal action. We do not offer a parental-consent service for under-13 accounts.

Policy changes and contact

We identify this policy by its version and effective date. We publish updated policies and provide appropriate notice of material changes; where a new purpose requires consent, we request it before that processing.
